Limitations and notes

  • Everything needs a licence. Recording, Vacation Mode, the A/V events and the actions all stop without one. If a licence lapses while Vacation Mode is on, playback stops. I'm back still works.
  • Crestron Home 4-series. The driver is built on the Crestron Home entity model and loads as an extension device (Scheduler).
  • Scenes only. The driver records and replays lighting scenes. A light switched on by itself, outside a scene, isn't recorded.
  • Five-minute steps. Recording and playback work in five-minute slots.
  • One week, rolling. Each slot holds the last time that weekday was recorded. There is no longer history.
  • Simulation needs All On and All Off. A room without both lighting scenes can't be simulated. The Coverage tab lists those rooms.
  • The Whole House room is never used. Its scene drives every other room, so it's left out of recording and playback.
  • No recording while away. Vacation Mode pauses recording, so the week isn't overwritten by its own playback.
  • The A/V events fire every day, whether or not Vacation Mode is on. See Events and actions in programming.
  • Sunset needs the right time zone and location. Set the processor's time zone correctly, and the latitude and longitude in the driver's setup wizard.
  • One per processor. Install one Vacation Lighting Scheduler V2 on each processor, and don't run it alongside the previous Vacation Lighting Scheduler.
  • The Web API must stay on. If it's switched off, recording and playback stop. The driver stays online and the panel says what's wrong.
Diagnostics & Setup has no sign-in

The Diagnostics & Setup app's API is unauthenticated, in common with LCD's other Crestron web apps. Anyone on the customer's network who knows the address can see the recording and start or stop Vacation Mode. The processor's credentials and the licence key are never exposed through it.
