Events and actions in programming

The driver's actions and events appear under its device in Crestron Home programming, on the Actions & Events screen.

Actions

ActionWhat it does
setAwayStarts Vacation Mode.
setHomeStops Vacation Mode.
toggleAwaySwitches between the two.
awayPassthroughRaises awayPassthroughFired.
homePassthroughRaises homePassthroughFired, but only while Vacation Mode is on.

The actions need a licence. Without one, the driver ignores them and notes it in the Activity tab. The A/V events aren't raised without a licence either.

A common use is a scene the family runs when they leave for a trip: add setAway to it, and the house starts looking lived-in as they go. Add setHome to the scene they run when they get back. Avoid an everyday Leave scene, or Vacation Mode starts every time someone goes to work.

Events

The A/V windows

A lit house with no sound or flicker from a television can still look empty. The A/V events let programming switch a television or some music on and off at believable times.

WindowOpens betweenLasts
Morning07:00 and 11:5930 to 120 minutes
Evening16:00 and 19:5930 to 120 minutes

New times are drawn every midnight, so no two days are the same. The Events tab in Diagnostics & Setup shows today's times.

The A/V events fire every day

The A/V events fire whether or not Vacation Mode is on, so anything bound to them runs every day, including when the family is at home.

Driver restarts

New times are also drawn when the driver starts. If the driver starts after a window's time has passed, that event doesn't fire that day.
